BIG JOE'S LISTS

My Starting Five

G Josh Mayo – Great outside shooter, can find open man.

G Vaugh Duggins – Do-It-All player who is a winner.

F Matt Howard – Top frontcourt force in the Horizon League.

F Cedric Jackson – Bruiser can get it done in and outside.

F Mike Schachtner – Big time shooter with size, tough to defend.

Coach: Brad Brownell – Has established himself as top coach in HL in just two short seasons.

My Top Ten Most Memorable Players of the Past Ten Years

1.     Joel Cornette – He was good and he did what had to be done, the Butler Way.

2.     Mike Miller – The grittiest player to step foot on a court in the past ten seasons.

3.     James Madison – The poster boy for the Rollie era.

4.     Mark Miller – Man, I hated UIC back in those days and he was the reason.

5.     Anthony Coomes – Never missed against my Ramblers and even got into a fight with our coach.

6.     Pete Ritzema – I always felt bad for the big guy, he seemed like a sad giant all alone on the end of the CSU bench.

7.     Theo Dixon – He spit in the face of Loyola’s coach and got away with it, I nearly had a stroke.

8.     Ced Banks- A Loyola killer who wanted to come to Loyola, still stings.

9.     Chad Angeli – He had the mustache and the scoring touch, true Wisconsin

10.  Corey Minifield – Some much talent, so few results.

My Top Five Impact Newcomers

1.     Chop Tang, UWGB – Will he be the one that finally gets Phoenix over the top.

2.     Shelvin Mack, Butler – Highly touted newcomer has big shoes to fill.

3.     Marcus Thomas, Loyola – If he can hit the outside shot Loyola might compete.

4.     Cory Cooperwood, Wright State – Raiders weakness is the frontcourt and he is expected to play big minutes.

5.     Ronald Nored, Butler – Might be starting PG on team that expects to contend after winning 30 games last season.
